Semaglutide is a new FDA-approved weight loss treatment that has recently hit the headlines. It is a once weekly injection that works by mimicking a peptide called GLP-1.
What is GLP-1?
Glucagon-like peptide-1 (or GLP-1) is a naturally occurring hormone in the body that is secreted in the gut and targets multiple receptors throughout the body related to appetite and hunger.

Semaglutide is also not recommended for those who have had a serious allergic reaction to Semaglutide or any of the ingredients in Semaglutide. Semaglutide is not recommended for those with Type I diabetes.

You will be sent paperwork that includes your health history, weight-loss goals, and consents.
Your Semaglutide Appointment
At your Semaglutide appointment at KureIV, you will meet with one of the medical providers who will review your health history and discuss your weight-loss goals.
If it is determined that you are a candidate for Semaglutide weight-loss treatment, you will receive your first injection in-office. You may either come in once a week to receive your Semaglutide injection or one our medical professionals will educate you on how to self-administer a subcutaneous shot and send you home with injections for the month.
We require monthly visits, where weight, goals, and treatment plan are discussed.
What is the Semaglutide Protocol?
The specific protocol will be discussed during your consultation. However, the general construct includes a progressively increasing dosage of a once-a-week subcutaneous injection.
